International Women’s Day marks an important occasion in the Taylor Studwelding annual calendar as we recognise the invaluable contributions of women in industries traditionally dominated by men. At Taylor Studwelding, women have been instrumental in shaping the company's legacy and driving innovation in British engineering since the formation of the company over 40 years ago.

A Legacy Built Together
Founded in 1984 by David Taylor, Taylor Studwelding has grown into a leading designer and manufacturer of stud welding machinery. From its inception, the company has remained a family-run business.
Women at the Helm
The Taylor family's commitment to the business spans three generations, with women taking on significant leadership roles:
Heather Taylor: Joining the company in 1996, Heather has undertaken various roles and now oversees the company's accounts, ensuring financial stability and growth.
Stephanie Armstrong: In 1994, Stephanie became the Export Sales Manager, leveraging her expertise in Spanish and French to establish a network of agents across Europe.
Their collaborative efforts laid a strong foundation, leading to the company's expansion into international markets, including China, the USA, and South Africa.
Championing Diversity in Engineering
While women constitute nearly half of the UK's workforce, they represent only 26% in the manufacturing sector. Taylor Studwelding recognises the importance of bridging this gap. By fostering an inclusive environment, the company not only benefits from diverse perspectives but also drives innovation and excellence in engineering.
Inspiring the Next Generation
The achievements of women at Taylor Studwelding serve as a beacon of inspiration for young women considering careers in engineering and manufacturing. Their stories highlight that with dedication, passion, and support, women can excel and lead in any field.
On this International Women's Day, we celebrate the remarkable women of the Taylor Studwelding team and all women who continue to break barriers, proving that engineering and manufacturing are enriched by diversity and inclusion.
